Printing electrons ① NEWLONG SEIMITSU KOGYO

I don't think there has ever been a time when interest in technology was as high as it is today.
Most people are exposed to and interested in technology in some way.
In an age when we cannot help but think that countries, companies, and individuals can only survive through technology, this may be a matter of course.

Nonetheless, I think the following can also be said: "technologies that you do not see directly are less interesting."

Let me give you an example.Various types of drinking water containers are abundantly available around us, and there are various kinds of printing directly on the glass or tin plate. Do you know what kind of technology that printing is based on? Also, the technology for printing the explanations and instructions on each part of the TV, radio-cassette player, or calculator...

Because it is so familiar, you may not even think about it, but these are possible for the first time with the technology of screen printing. I don't want you to know what kind of technology screen printing is. I just want you to reconsider the fact that there are various technologies around us in our lives.

NEWLONG SEIMITSU KOGYO. Headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, we are a leading manufacturer of specialized screen printing machines. President Takayasu Inoue took a long thirty years after the war to nurture the company step by step and achieved the position it has today.

Capital of forty million yen. Annual sales of about one billion one hundred million yen (sales figures in 1979). It's a small group of sixty three people under the president, but their technical power is by far overwhelming others, forming a unique technical group.

Certainly, there are many other companies with annual sales of around one billion yen. However, in the field of screen printing, Newlong Seimitsu Kogyo stands out from the crowd in terms of its corporate scale.

“In this industry, most companies have between five million and ten million yen in capital. Therefore, our capital of forty million yen is much larger."

Inoue says this without restraint.

There are quite a few companies on a scale like Newlong Seimitsu Kogyo that are challenging themselves in the field of special technology and are continuing to develop. They never get the limelight, but they steadily grow by climbing the stairs step by step while solidifying their footing.

The lack of exposure to the limelight is based on the fact that technologies in these areas often play an unsung role. Therefore, this does not impair the reputation of the company's technical capabilities and the role it plays.

For example, one of the technologies touted as cutting-edge technology today is the electronics industry, which is symbolized by computers.

In particular, the phenomenal development of semiconductor devices, from ICs to LSIs, has attracted much attention. However, screen printing technology plays a major role in the shadow of this astounding development. A semiconductor chip is extremely small, less than a centimeter. The biggest point of the technology is how many elements can be placed on the board and how much wiring is possible. Screen printing technology is the decisive factor in making the most of these elements.

“It is certainly a well-established opinion among the general public that today's electronics industry would not have developed without screen printing technology.” (Inoue)

In November 1964, we released the first flat screen printer to the world. Since then, we have grown to consistently make efforts to develop the technology, and fully fulfill the role of one of the cornerstones of the development of today's electronics industry.
