Reducing Alignment Time

Do you ever feel like recently your work speed has slowed down?
Most of the common causes are that auto alignment teaching has not been performed.
Certainly, depending on the mark, there are cases where alignment can be achieved even if each setup is cut short.
However, just because it's troublesome doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.
Here, I would like to talk about the necessity of auto-alignment teaching.

Alignment equipment does not know at all how and where the workpiece is placed on the table, and what shape the mark is at which position.
Therefore, the alignment system should be provided with this information.
With our company's equipment, shape registration (pattern entry), position registration (position entry), and learning (teaching) are generally performed.
You already know shape registration and position registration. So what is taught?

Now let's consider the operation of alignment.

Recognize marks and detect misalignment
Move the table "arbitrarily" in the direction of aligning the marks
Repeat 1 and 2 until the positions match

・・・In this case, it seems that the alignment will not end with repeated trial and error.

The teaching is a function that learns how much the mark moves on the camera when the table is moved.
As a result, when the actual alignment is performed, if there is a misalignment of this much, the position should be aligned by moving this much can be predicted.
If the prediction is correct, only one alignment is required. However, if this important teaching is not carried out, the alignment will be repeated over and over due to unexpected errors, which will take time.
You can actually see how many alignments have been performed by looking at the display on the screen.
Alignment screen
It's hard to see because of the small letters, but the item labeled "Try no" is the number of alignments performed in one alignment.
The Time below it is the time it took to align.
This is the alignment screen commonly used for our equipment.
It may vary depending on the device.

If the number of alignments is not completed in one time, you may be able to shorten the takt time by trying teaching, so please try it once.
Also, if the alignment is not completed in one attempt no matter how many times you teach, there may be a mechanical problem or the need for an overhaul.
