Actually, printing cherry blossoms is a good way to learn various basic techniques of screen printing.
To screen print a color photograph, we do a color separation. It decomposes the colors in a color photograph into the primary colors Y (yellow), M (magenta), and C (cyan). All printed colors can be expressed by mixing these three primary colors. However, the light and dark are not enough, so we print black in addition to this.
The density of each color and black is adjusted by the size of the dots, so make 4 plates made up of small dots. A color photograph is created by layer printing this.
This printing cannot be done well without the basics of screen printing.
First, if the squeegee conditions are poor and the print film thickness varies, the balance between the three primary colors will be lost and the cherry blossoms will not be beautiful. If the accuracy of overprinting is poor, the three primary colors will not match, so the cherry blossoms will not be beautiful. If you make a mistake with the ink, it will not be a cherry blossom. Also, if the drying conditions for the workpiece are incorrect, dimensional changes will occur, resulting in a misalignment of the printed layers.
With this print, these mistakes are only noticeable after the entire print is finished. This is because the beautiful cherry blossom color comes out when all four plates match perfectly.
This is not the case with other printers. For example, let's say you printed a simple electrical circuit. In the case of electric circuits, even if the appearance is somewhat bad, if electricity flows, it will be a good product. Even if there are some problems in the printing conditions, they may not be noticed. However, with Sakura Printing, beautiful flowers bloom only when all the conditions are met.
